Peek Mouchel TechMAC Services
|
The Technology Managing Agent Contractor (TechMAC) concept is a contractural arrangement whereby a single company provides the Highways Agency with consulting and contracting capabilities under a single contract.
Similiar to the MAC contract, for the highways infrastructure services, the TechMAC transfers the responsibility for maintaining and operating the technology equipment to a specialist contractor. The TechMAC will also identify design or implement improvements, and delivery technology schemes on the network more effectively than under separate consultancy / contractor arrangements.
To offer this service to the HA, Peek teamed with Mouchel, a leading supplier of consultancy services to the traffic industry, and were successful in winning TechMAC commissions for the East, and East Midlands Regional Control Centre network.
Peek and Mouchel is an excellent combination of complementary skills and shared values, and through the PeekMouchel joint venture we provide seamless delivery service to the HA and other contractors in the highways environment.

Transmission and Communications Services
|
The Highways Agency has a bespoke communications network which services the wide variety of roadside equipment installed throughout the UK's motorways network. This system operates the HA's own proprietary National Motorway Communications Systems protocol (NMCS) and includes communications equipment at purpose built transmission stations and in roadside cabinets. Peek has a team of engineers qualified in the maintenance and support of this equipment. This team carries out routine and preventative maintenance, as well as first line fault response. These activities ensure that the integrity of the communications network is maintained at all times.

Installation, commissioning and testing of outstation equipment
|
Peek has a long history in the installation and commissioning of roadside equipment. We have a team of engineers who provide these services, including the testing and configuration of the cable infrastructure, as well as the commissioning of equipment in the roadside cabinets.
The activities cover all aspects of NMCS2 installation and commissioning for MIDAS, NMCS2 communications equipment, matrix signals and drivers, PSUs, Variable Message Signs, CCTV and Emergency Roadside Telephones/responders, and other communications equipment.
Peek has extensive experience gained over many years of undertaking Motorway schemes as sub-contractor to the main contracting agent, or as Principal Contractor with CDM responsibility, in addition to providing their services directly to the Highways Agency.
