Peek has extensive experience in the development and delivery of Motorway systems for the UK Highways Agency. The HA's Traffic Management System (HATMS) provides the integrated platform for the control and surveillance of the country's strategic road network, allowing the network managers to operate the roads safely and efficiently.
These motorway control systems are, by necessity, developed to a high degree of safety integrity, and Peek is involved in a number of initiatives to further develop the motorway control systems to provide hard shoulder operation, and ramp metering in order to meet the increasingly challenging objective of getting more capacity out of the existing road network without building additional roads. |
